Tour de France: 3600 feet in 8.7 mies
Edgewood Road: ~500 feet in 2 miles
June 24th - 27 miles
I got up early on Saturday June 24th to do a bike ride. I climbed over Edgewood and arrived at Canada road at 7:30am only to find it
already swarmed with riders, though curiously on only one side of the road. I went down Canada to highway 92, along the way passing some guy setting up a camera. I passed 92 into some territory I had never been to before and turned around. By the time I got to the roadside camera guy, he had signs up advertising that he was taking pictures of everyone for later retrieval via the internet. He even had a clever clock for you to look at so you could remember when you passed by. As I got back to the Edgewood intersection, I saw a handy little pavilion with snacks and many riders tanking up on them. Thinking someone was benevolently catering to the Canada riding cadre, I wandered in myself. I asked someone manning the tent before partaking of food about the justification for the refreshments and was told that it was an event by the Giro organization for disabled adults. Ah, I said, and departed without eating.
But I got a couple of pictures out of it!
