  • Heel hits ground first
  • Rock forward, push off ball of foot
  • Toes point straight ahead
  • Feet under knees, do not swing side to side Length of stride
  • Stride is several inches longer than regular step
  • Elbows bent at 90°
  • Arms swing front to back, not side to side
  • Arms and legs move in opposition
  • Hands and arms are relaxed
  • Upper body nearly erect
  • Head and check are up
