Since the 'state quarters' came out, I've saved every one I ever got in change. I've got a bunch, and figured I must have one from every state by now. Plus, it's fun to hope that maybe you got a rare one, like the mis-minted Pennsylvania.
Then
ChrisBenschoter pointed out that some are from the Denver (D) mint, and others are from the Philadelphia (P) mint! Now I have something new to obsess over.
Notes:
- According to the mint Philadelphia and Denver mint around the same quantity of quarter coins
- I lived in Chicago up until late 1999, this may explain why I have so many Delaware coins, for instance
So I sorted through all my quarters and here's the (P) quarters that I have...

Here's the official
web site with circulation figures...interesting how they've cut down on the minting amount as time has gone on.
Here's some info on the
mis-minted quarters!
