These pictures come from the area off highway 92 near I-280. The lake sits on top of the San Adreas Fault. It's about 12 miles east of my house in Half Moon Bay and 20 miles south of San Francisco.

I drive past this area each day, and suprisingly it looks a little different each time. No, really. Sometimes the lake looks deep green, sometimes pale blue. If you catch it when the sun is setting it makes the mountains look somewhat golden. The hills look golden brown during the summer and green during the spring.

Nighttime can be really wonderful when the moon reflects off the water.

If you drive by in the Early morning (which I rarely do) often big pillows of cloudy fog sit on top of the lake - the lake is a low spot.
